India continue its good form on rack and field by winning the silver in the first-ever 4x400m Mixed Relay at the Asian Games. The Indian team comprising of Poovamma Machettira, Hima Das, Muhammed Anas Yahiya and Rajiv Arokia clocked 3:15.71 seconds to finish second behind Bahrain, who won gold by clocking 3:11.89 seconds. Kazakhstan took home the bronze medal with a time of 3:19.52 seconds.

Anas started the race with a bang and finished his lap in the first position. But Poovamma fell back a little which was made up by Hima. Lastly, Arokia finished strongly to ensure India the silver medal.

However, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) lodged a protest against Bahrain for causing obstruction to Hima Dasduring the race. The protest has been admitted by the jury of appeals which will give its ruling.
