“Pickleball has improved my patience and that is helping in playing the net game quite accurately…….”

Aditya Ruhela is just 18. He is undecided about his future with Pickleball. But presently Aditya, who is also a Lawn Tennis player, is taking Pickleball seriously.

“I have been playing Tennis quite for sometime but Pickleball has helped me in my life. It has made me more patient and helped me in taking right decission. This improved my game of Tennis as I am a better net player now.”

There has been always a connection between Pickleball and Lawn Tennis in Aditya’s life. His first brush with Pickleball also happened through Tennis.

“One day when I was playing Tennis, the string of my racket tore. As there was no extra racket in my kit bag, I had no option to continue the game for that day. Just by the side of our Tennis court, I often saw a sport being played which was somewhat similar to Tennis. I never played it as I was always short of time after my regular practice. But that day, after my Tennis racket hiccup, I thought of giving that sport a try. And that’s how I started playing Pickleball.”

True to his name, (Aditya means ‘Sun’), Aditya is shining brightly in Indian Pickleball. He is regarded as one of the best young players India is having now in Pickleball. His recent success in different tournaments speaks about him.

“I am in 12^th standard and get limited time for practice. Moreover I play both Tennis and Pickleball; therefore I have to divide my playing time between the two sports. So I am not sure what to pursue in the future. But presently I am aiming to play at Pro-Pickleball level. There’s a lot to improve, especially my physical strength. Competing at the Pro level shall require a lot of stamina and perfect fitness.”
