India’s sporting landscape just got sharper. The inaugural Archery Premier League (APL) is turning out to be a high-octane showcase of precision, performance, and panache.
With global cinema icon Ram Charan leading the charge as the brand ambassador of Archery Premier League, and actor-entrepreneur Randeep Hooda co-owning the Prithviraaj Yodhas, the league has already struck a chord with fans and industry leaders alike. The opening ceremony blended glamour with grit, as six elite squads lined up under the lights, ready to redefine archery for a new generation.

The APL’s innovative format—featuring mixed-gender teams of recurve and compound archers—adds strategic depth and inclusivity to the sport. Each player shoots two arrows per set within a 120-second window, and the first team to reach five points in a best-of-three format claims victory.
The action began with the Chola Chiefs edging out the Chero Archers 5-1 in a tightly contested opener. The Mighty Marathas followed with a commanding 6-0 win over the Kakatiya Knights, showcasing clinical consistency across all three sets. The day wrapped with the Rajputana Royals delivering a clean sweep against the Prithviraaj Yodhas, sealing their dominance with a 6-0 finish.

World No. 1 Recurve archer Brady Ellison is excited to play in a format that involves both recurve and compound archers in the squad of eight players per team. The players also face a huge challenge of shooting eight arrows in 120 seconds in every set played in a match.
With marquee names, a bold format, and a vision to elevate archery into the mainstream, the Archery Premier League is more than a tournament. And as Delhi plays host to this pioneering venture, the message is clear: India is ready to lead the future of precision sport.
