Olympic Records and Speed Skating Drama

One of the day’s most electric moments came in the Women’s 1,000 m Long-Track Speed Skating at the Milano Speed Skating Stadium. Dutch star Jutta Leerdam lit up the ice, capturing the Netherlands’ first gold of the Games and setting a new Olympic record with a blistering time of 1:12.31.

Snowboard Big Air- Airs and Accolades

Under the night lights in Livigno, Snowboard Big Air finals showcased gravity-defying tricks and elite aerial skill. Japan’s Kokomo Murase soared to gold with an impressive run featuring a backside triple 1440, upgrading from her 2022 Olympic bronze and underscoring Japan’s rising dominance in the discipline. 

Mathilde Gremaud

Swiss Consistency and Freeski Finesse

In Women’s Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle, Mathilde Gremaud successfully defended her title in a nail-biter battle, edging China’s Eileen Gu by a narrow margin.

The Men’s Alpine Skiing Team combined event delivered another triumph for Switzerland, with the duo of Franjo von Allmen and Tanguy Nef taking gold. This made Von Allmen the first double gold medalist at these Games after his previous downhill victory.

Other Notable Results

U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey remained unbeaten after a dominant performance, including a 5–0 victory over Switzerland, setting up a marquee showdown with Canada later in the tournament.

In Mixed Doubles Curling, both the U.S. and Sweden advanced to the gold medal match following semifinal victories, while Great Britain continued to pursue a medal in the bronze playoff.

Figure Skating continued to produce crowd-pleasing moments, with routines full of flair and creativity during the rhythm dance segments.
