14th Day of January

The first six of Test cricket was hit by Australia’s Joe Darling at Adelaide Oval against England. It was hit 21 years after the first cricket match. In those days you had to hit it out of the ground to get six. Clearing the boundary was considered as five.

Jason Krejza, the Australian offspinner having a sensational debut, was born on this day. Jason took 12 wickets on debut against India in Nagpur including eight in the first innings. But Krejza conceded more runs than anyone in his maiden Test. He played only one more Test against South Africa in which he took one wicket. After that he was dropped from the side.
