India picked up their second straight win in Champions Trophy Hockey by defeating Olympics champion Argentina by 2-1. India won their first match comprehensively against Pakistan by 4-0. The win ensures India maintain their place at the top of the Champions Trophy.

India scored the opener in the 17th minute of the match when Harmanpreet Singh scored from the penalty corner. They doubled their score in the 28th minute when Mandeep Singh made no mistake in deflecting it past the Argentine goalkeeper. While Argentina reduced the deficit in the 30th minute, they could not break India’s defence further.

With this win India avenged their semifinal loss at the Hockey World League Final in December 2017.
