India produced its most productive day of this edition’s Asian Games so far on Day 11 at Aichi Nagoya 2026, turning a strong medal campaign into a genuine gold-medal surge.

The Indian contingent won seven medals- four gold and three bronze– as Compound Archery swept all three team titles and Shooting added another gold in Mixed Trap. Boxing and Wrestling supplied the three bronze medals. India consequently crossed the 60-medal mark, reaching 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze medals and moving up to eighth place in the overall standings.

China Crosses 150 Golds as Japan Reaches 200 Medals

At the top, meanwhile, China crossed the 150-gold mark, Japan reached 50 golds and the battle for the positions immediately behind the leading trio remained tightly contested.

China’s lead was not simply a function of its medal count. The country continued to dominate across multiple disciplines, particularly Diving, where its winning streak at the Asian Games dates back to its debut in 1974.

On Day 11 at Aichi Nagoya, Lian Junjie won the Men’s 10m Platform gold, giving China its 100th consecutive Asian Games Diving gold medal. China also swept the Women’s 3m Springboard podium.

India on Day 11 at Aichi Nagoya 2026

India’s campaign on Day 11 at Aichi Nagoya was defined by one sport: Compound Archery. India won three consecutive Compound Archery team golds before Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai added a fourth gold in Mixed Trap Shooting.

Compound Archery Sweeps All Three Golds

The first gold came from the Women’s Compound team. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep defeated China 238-234 in the final. The Indian trio also matched the world-record score of 238, adding another layer to an already dominant performance. It was India’s second consecutive Asian Games gold in the Women’s Compound team event.

Mixed Team: Chikitha Adds Another Gold

Chikitha Taniparthi returned almost immediately for the Mixed Team final alongside Sahil Jadhav. The Indian pair defeated South Korea in a shoot-off after the contest finished level, securing India’s second Compound Archery gold of the day. The victory also secured an important LA 2028 Olympic quota place.

Men’s Team Completes the Sweep

The Men’s Compound team of Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru completed India’s clean sweep. India defeated China 238-237, recovering from a deficit late in the contest to claim the third Compound Team gold of the day.

Neeru Dhanda Adds Another Shooting Gold

India’s fourth gold came from the Shooting range. Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai won the Mixed Trap team event, defeating Qatar 34-32 in the final. China took bronze with 23 hits. Their score of 34 was a new Asian Games record, surpassing the previous mark of 30.

For Dhanda, it was her second gold of the Games. She had already created history on Day 10 at Aichi Nagoya 2026 by becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual Asian Games gold in Trap Shooting. She had also won silver in the Women’s Trap team event.

The mixed-team victory took India’s Shooting haul to 15 medals- three gold, eight silver and four bronze.

Boxing Adds Two More Bronze

India’s Boxing campaign continued to produce medals. Priya Ghanghas won bronze in the Women’s 60kg category after losing her semifinal to China’s Yang Chengyu 1-4. Kapil Pokhariya also secured bronze in the Men’s 90kg category after his semifinal defeat to Uzbekistan’s Turabek Khabibullaev.

Sumit Kumar Wins Wrestling Bronze
