Day 10 at Aichi Nagoya 2026 produced one of the most significant days of India’s campaign. India returned to the gold-medal column with two victories- Neeru Dhanda in Women’s Trap shooting and the Women’s 4×400m Relay.
India finished the day with seven medals- two gold, one silver and four bronze- taking its overall tally to 52 medals. The haul lifted India from 12th to 10th position in the medal standings.
At the top, China continued its extraordinary domination, reaching 143 gold medals and 254 medals overall. Japan remained second and South Korea third.
Major Global Results
South Korea’s An Se-young successfully defended her Women’s Badminton Singles title, while Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn won Men’s Singles gold. China dominated the doubles events, taking both Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles.
In Weightlifting, China’s Li Wenwen won the Women’s +86kg title, while Uzbekistan’s Akbar Djuraev claimed the Men’s 110kg gold. Iran’s Ali Davoudi won the Men’s +110kg category.
China also swept both Diving gold medals on the day, with Chen Yuxi winning the Women’s 10m Platform and Wang Zongyuan taking the Men’s 3m Springboard.
China’s advantage at the top of the standings continued to widen on Day 10 at Aichi Nagoya 2026. The Chinese contingent finished the day with 143 gold, 62 silver and 49 bronze. Japan was second with 45 gold, 71 silver and 67 bronze, while South Korea remained third with 24 gold, 27 silver and 44 bronze. Uzbekistan moved into fourth place with 14 gold medals, while Thailand climbed to fifth. Bahrain was sixth, followed by Iran and Kazakhstan.
China’s medal haul was particularly striking because its 143 gold medals were more than three times Japan’s 45. The country continued to collect titles across Shooting, Diving, Weightlifting, Athletics and other disciplines.

After a medal-heavy but gold-light Day 9, India produced a decisive response on Day 10 at Aichi Nagoya 2026. The country won 2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze.
Neeru Dhanda Ends India’s Individual Gold Wait
The first breakthrough came from the Shooting range. Neeru Dhanda won gold in the Women’s Individual Trap, becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual Asian Games gold medal in Trap Shooting. Dhanda dominated the final with 28 hits out of 30, setting a new Asian Games record. China’s Sun Yunong took silver with 26, while Kuwait’s Hajar Abdulmalik won bronze with 21.
Dhanda had already been central to India’s medal campaign in the event, helping the Women’s Trap team win silver alongside Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer. The Indian trio scored 328, finishing behind China’s 346. Kuwait took bronze with 325.
Athletics Finally Gets Its Gold
India’s long wait for an Athletics gold at Aichi-Nagoya finally ended in the Women’s 4×400m Relay. The quartet of Vithya Ramraj, Kiran Pahal, M.R. Poovamma and Prachi clocked 3:29.69 to win the gold medal. Bahrain finished second in 3:30.21, while China took bronze in 3:31.02.
It was India’s first Athletics gold of the 2026 Asian Games, ending the discipline’s gold-medal drought at these Games. For Vithya Ramraj, it was another medal in an extraordinary Games. She had already won bronze in the 400m Hurdles and broken a long-standing Indian national record in that event.
Gulveer Singh Completes a Three-Medal Games
On Day 10 at Aichi Nagoya 2026, Gulveer Singh added another bronze to his collection in the Men’s 5000m. The medal completed an impressive three-medal campaign for the distance runner. Earlier Gulveer won silver in Men’s 10000m and Men’s 5000m.
He became one of India’s most successful individual athletes at Aichi-Nagoya in terms of medals won.
Pooja Singh Ends a 24-Year Wait
Pooja Singh won bronze in the Women’s High Jump with a clearance of 1.84m. The medal ended India’s 24-year wait for a Women’s High Jump medal at the Asian Games.
There was also disappointment in the Men’s pole vault, where Dev Kumar Meena finished seventh despite setting a national record of 5.50m.
Relay Teams Add Two More Bronze
India’s athletics programme added two bronze medals in the relay events. The Mixed 4×100m Relay team finished third, while the Men’s 4×400m Relay team also took bronze.
The results meant India finished the athletics programme with a substantial collection of medals across track and field, capped by the women’s 4×400m gold.
Narender Berwal Wins Boxing Bronze
India’s Boxing campaign added another medal through Narender Berwal in the Men’s +90kg category. Berwal lost his semifinal to Kazakhstan’s reigning world champion Aibek Oralbay by a unanimous 0-5 decision, earning bronze.
Two more Indian boxers, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal, reached their respective finals, assuring India of further medals beyond Day 10 at Aichi Nagoya 2026.
