Day 5 of Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics roared into life with a dazzling blend of historic golds, record-breaking performances and dramatic podium battles. 

Stars of the Day

Jordan Stolz- The American Speed Skating sensation  lit up the long track, clinching gold in the Men’s 1000m with a new Olympic record time. His performance not only marked his first individual Olympic title but also signalled a new era in men’s speed skating dominance.

Francesca Lollobrigida- Italy’s Francesca Lollobrigida continued her stellar Games with gold in the Women’s 5000m Speed Skating, adding to her previous title in the 3000 m. Her tireless effort thrilled the home crowd and added to Italy’s medal haul as the host nation. 

Federica Brignone- In Alpine Skiing, Federica Brignone delivered a comeback of the ages, winning gold in the Women’s Super-G less than a year after a major leg injury. Her aggressive, flawless run underscored her champion mentality. 

– Freestyle Skiing saw a sensational outcome in Men’s Moguls, where Australia’s Cooper Woods edged Canada’s Mikael Kingsbury for gold on a tiebreak, marking his nation’s first top-step finish at these Games.

Chloe Kim in Snowboard Halfpipe- Snowboarding icon Chloe Kim advanced to the Women’s Halfpipe finals on Day 5 of Milano Cortino 2026 with poise and power, once again proving she’s a medal threat despite stiff global competition.

U.S. Moguls Sweep- In Women’s Moguls, the United States enjoyed a strong showing, with Liz Lemley topping the podium and Jaelin Kauf taking silver in a spirited 1-2 finish for Team USA.
