Khelo India University Games 2021- Dutee Chand warms up in the stadium as athletics extravaganza set to begin

The Athletic events of Khelo India University Games 2021 are set to begin from 30th April at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru.

Olympian Dutee Chand warmed up at Sree Kanteerava Stadium a day before her 100m final in Khelo India University Games 2021. In the first edition of the Games, Dutee set a new inter-University record by clocking 11.49s to bag the gold. In addition to Dutee Chand, 400m runner Priya Mohan and long jumper Ancy Sojan will also be in action in their respective events.

On 29th April, thirteen medals were up for grabs in the competition. Guru Nanak Dev University’s Chingakham Jetlee Singh, a Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) athlete, beat his team-mate Shubham to strike gold in Men’s Epee.

Olympian Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar has to settle for silver medal in 50m 3 position for Men at KIUG2021 as he was defeated by Lovely Professional University’s Sartaj Singh Tiwana.

Punjab University defeated Jamia Millia University to win Men’s Basketball.
