24th Deaflympics- Olympian Diksha Dagar wins the seventh gold for India

Diksha Dagar, who competed in both Olympics and Deaflympics, won the Women’s Golf at the ongoing 24th Deaflympics in Caxias do Sul, Brazil.

In 2017 Deaflympics held at Turkey, Diksha Dagar won the silver medal. In this year’s edition, she upgraded her medal to gold as she defeated Ashlyn Grace Johnson of USA in the final of Women’s Golf at the 24th Deaflympics. The bronze went to Margaux Brejo of France.

Diksha Dagar beat Germany’s Amelia Paloma Podbicanin 6 and 5 in the last eight and Andrea Hellegjerde 5 and 4 in the semi finals. With Diksha Dagar’s victory, India now has won 7 gold medals till now.

Dikha,who competed in Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has won twice on the Ladies European Tour – once as an individual in 2019 and as a team in 2021.
